Scott Patrick Rose, 50, passed away on February 22, 2021. Scott was born on April 13, 1970, in Bellefonte, PA. He attended State College High School and graduated with a B.A. in Art and Art History from Pennsylvania State University. During Scott’s 26 years with his spouse, Charles E. Morris III, he lived in State College, PA, Granville, OH, Nashville, TN, Boston, MA, and Syracuse, NY. He loved working in the arts, including most recently as Director of the 914Works gallery, which he founded for students, faculty, and staff at Syracuse University.
Scott Rose is preceded in death by his father, Lewis P. Rose. He is survived by those he adored, his husband, Chuck Morris, his mother, Linda Rose, his sister, Heather Heckman, brother-in-law, Craig Heckman, nieces Alyse Elder (John Elder) and Carley Heckman (Dakota Lykens), his cats, Cooper, Henry and Harrison, and a large extended family of relatives and dear friends.
Scott Rose was a beautiful and unforgettable man with an outsized presence, charm, generosity, sense of humor, and appetite for life. Most of all, he had an enormous loving heart. Although it is so hard to believe he is gone, Scott’s effervescent spirit will be with us always.
