Obituary for Doris A. Caruth

Doris A. Caruth, 88 of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. A native and lifelong resident, Doris was born on the Northside of Syracuse on November 12, 1933 to Carl and Anna (Groginski) Mick. She was a communicant of St. Daniel’s Church.

Doris retired in 2001 from Syracuse University having worked in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of Development Services. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues over the years. A family-centered mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Doris liked nothing better than family gatherings and celebrating life events. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Robert A. Caruth, Jr.

She is survived by her three children: Karen (Paul) Longchamps; Deborah (Warren) Pratt, and Robert C. (Susan) Caruth; six grandchildren: Meghann Pratt; Kyle (Kimberly) Pratt, Caitlin (Donald) Andrews, Jolie (Christopher) Kajioka, Carl Longchamps, Katherine Caruth; seven great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Judy Valentino and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, February 14, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Daniel’s Church, 3004 Court Street, Syracuse

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Daniel’s Church.

The Rite of Committal and burial will be immediately following in Woodlawn Cemetery
