Claude John Regna, Sr. 82 of Syracuse passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Native of Syracuse, Claude was the son of the late Angelo and Josephine (Bonura Tarravechia) Regna.
Graduate of North High School in Syracuse where interesting enough, he lived on the site of his alma mater for the later part of his life before entering St. Camillus.
Veteran of the U.S. Army, Claude was known around Syracuse as a forward-thinking ”Man Around Town” who worked at many jobs including running a pet taxi company in the 1970’s, working at Burns Brothers and at the former Marsellus Casket Company. He proudly held a patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a specially designed Army boot.
Claude was smart, witty, stubborn, independent man who had a love for Columbus Bakery Bread and dogs. His favorite pets included the Doberman dogs named Prince, Rex and King.
Pre-deceased by his parents and his beloved wife, Shirley (Smith) Regna who passed away in 2013 and his brother Joseph Porto who died one day after his death on March 5, 2023.
Survived by four children: C.J. (Betsy) Regna, Jr., Michelle Regna, Jeffrey (Sarah) Regna and Heidi (Kerry Kristianovich) Regna
12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery CHAPEL, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, NY 13215.
