Obituary for Anita Seeland (Brodella)
Anita (Brodella) Seeland, 86 of Syracuse died peacefully at home on Friday, April 21, 2023.
Born in Syracuse to the late Kurt and Anna (Schmitt) Brodella, Anita was a graduate of North High School and longtime communicant of Assumption Church.
Anita was a Telephone Operator for NY Telephone before becoming a Library Clerk. She worked for over 35 years for the Onondaga County Public Libraries working from the Downtown Syracuse branch for much of her career. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, watching birds, eating ice cream, visiting the Adirondacks, road trips, German music and watching Lawrence Welk.
A great lover of animals, her cats brought her much joy and she loved them dearly--Katrina, Sienna, Butterscotch and especially the late Snowdrop.
Pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Henry “G” Seeland, son-in-law, David Clark and brother-in-law, Richard Karlik.
Survived by three daughters: Wendy Clark, Robin (Tom) Amedro and Dawn Williams.
One sister, Trudy Karlik, seven grandchildren; Christopher (Laura) Clark, Jason (Ann) Clark, Jennifer (Travis) Crowell, Stephanie (Jeff) Kunsman, Matthew (Katie) Amedro, Sean Amedro and Kim (Rob) Roselli; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Seeland Family wishes to thank Anita’s caregivers for the love, care and concern shown to our mother over the past two years. We so appreciate Katie, Michele and Shannon for all that you did to assist us in keeping Mom in her own home and making her comfortable.
Visitation will be on THURSDAY, April 27, 2023, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Assumption Church, 812 N. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be THURSDAY at 10:00 AM at the church.
The Rite of Committal and burial will be immediately following in Assumption Cemetery.
