Obituary for Angela C. Gil

Angela C. Gil, 80 of Syracuse and formerly of Cuba died on February 6, 2023 in New York City.

Native of Cuba, she was the daughter of Nicolas Gil and Juana Francisca Ulloa, and she came to the United States in 1999 where she settled in Syracuse, NY.

While in Cuba, she was a substitute Teacher and loved working with children.

Angela was a kind, sweet, helpful person and anyone and everyone that met her, loved her! She was always ready to listen, give a hand to someone in need and she was a great listener. She had a great sense of style and fashion, she loved to dance, sing and enjoyed all types of music. Her children proclaimed that “she was the BEST mother ever!” and they all loved her dearly. The family said that it is very fitting that her funeral should be held on Valentine’s Day—a day of love.

Pre-deceased by her husband, Argelio P. Ortiz in 2017.

Survived by four children, Sulica M. Ortiz-Gil, Argerlio Ortiz, Alberto Ortiz and Marila Ortiz-Gil
Seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters and four brothers that are in Cuba along with several nieces and nephews
